Menopause

Much confusion abounds around the topic of menopause - the complete lack of periods for one year. I believe that just as we all differ so widely in our childbearing experiences, we also differ in our menopausal changes. It is difficult to predict when or how a woman will enter menopause. We now recognize the perimenopause or premenopause as a phase occuring bfore the final menopause itself, which may begin as early as age 35. Ultimately, you will experience it in your own unique way. Menopause just like puberty and childbearing is a life event over which you have no control. Your best game plan is to be in the best health you can be and arm yourself with knowledge from reliable sources. Partner with a health professional that you can trust and depend on to individualize your care. You will find that just like the other "life events" you'll make it through!
