It's What's On The Inside That Counts! June 15, 2006
(BlackDoctor.org) --Every day people spend millions of dollars on beauty products designed to improve appearance and make them look younger. But before you reach for that bottle, think again. While many of the creams and polishes out there make skin appear healthier, recent studies have shown that healthy skin is also a direct result of what is being put into our bodies.
Hi Everyone!
I hope you are all keeping well and enjoying your spring. Other than outrageous allergies :),this season brings renewal, revitalization and refreshing of spirits. Let's not forget that we are committed to good health for ourselves and our communitiies. The disparities will not just 'go away' any time soon and we must continue our efforts no matter how small. Don't forget, a kind word to a young pregnant mom at the store, a donation of your used medical books or magazines to the thrift shop, a volunteer opportunity at your kids school or church, a little 'good health' message here or there goes a long way. "Modeling" works especially well - and no I don't mean fashion! How is YOUR health????? Lead by example - if your friends and family see you taking care of yourself, following up on your annual exams, eating a salad (with low-fat dresing) here and there, before long your influence may rub off. Get out and walk, take the kids or the dog; maybe leave the credit cards behind and walk the mall. Whatever you choose make it fun and do-able, then just keep on doing it.
This month - let's think about natural approaches to health. "Let food be your medicine, and your medicine be your food" - Hippocrates. You know it makes sense! The cheapest, safest and most relable approach to health care - ever. I encourage you to read and learn about diet and good health and consider natural remedies as alternatives to medicine.
