Now You Can Detect Pre-Cancerous Breast Changes Even Earlier!

Are you a woman that worries about breast cancer? I certainly am. I have no family history of breast cancer, I am relatively healthy, I eat well, Ok maybe I don’t drink as much water as I should, but for the most part, I do pretty well. So why am I worried? I worry because African American women are twice as likely to die from breast cancer as their white counterparts. I worry because there is a higher incidence of breast cancer now than ever before. I worry because younger and younger women are succumbing to this disease. I worry because women in my practice often don’t have insurance and don’t present for care until they feel a lump. I worry because a majority of the women I serve do not even do a self breast exam let alone come in to see me regularly for me to do a clinical one. And I particularly worry because the message of prevention is not getting through.

I was recently reminded that without our spiritual health being intact we will have a very hard time being healthy at all. Sometimes the obvious is staring you right in the face but it takes a friend to point it out to you. It was important for me to be reminded that as part of my stand for all women's health I must not forget my own! Take time to re-connect yourself with God, the source of all our health and blessings.
